Why Wattana Law

What makes this a sheltered place to seek help

We listen before we advise

Every first meeting is devoted to hearing your account without interruption. Understanding your situation fully comes before any advice is offered.

Complete confidentiality

Family matters are personal. Everything shared within our consultations stays strictly between you and your legal team, with no exceptions.

Calm, conflict-aware approach

We work to keep interactions respectful, particularly where children or shared arrangements are involved. Reducing conflict where possible is a priority for us.

Clear written summaries

After each consultation you receive a written summary of what was discussed and the options available, so nothing gets lost between meetings.

Your timeline, not ours

We never push for a decision. You proceed when and if you feel ready. There is no obligation attached to an initial conversation with us.

Local knowledge, Khon Kaen courts

We have handled family matters in Khon Kaen courts for years. That local familiarity means less uncertainty and fewer unexpected turns for clients.

Take the first step

Would it help to simply talk it through?

A Family Conversation Session asks nothing of you beyond an hour of your time. Bring what is on your mind. We will listen, explain what the law provides, and leave the rest entirely up to you.

Common Questions

Things people often want to know

What happens during the Family Conversation Session? +

You meet with one of our lawyers in a quiet, private room. We spend the first part simply listening — there is no prepared agenda. After we understand your circumstances, we explain the legal options available to you under Thai family law, in plain language. You leave with a written summary. There is no obligation to take any further steps.

How long does a family agreement matter usually take? +

Family Agreement Support typically spans one to two months, though the pace is shaped by both parties' circumstances. If communication is open and agreement is reached early, matters can close sooner. We keep you informed throughout and do not rush anything in ways that could be counterproductive.

Is everything I share with you confidential? +

Yes. All information shared with Wattana Law is protected by lawyer-client confidentiality under Thai law. We do not share details of your matter with anyone outside your legal team without your explicit consent. This applies from the very first conversation.

Do I need to bring documents to my first meeting? +

You are welcome to bring any documents you feel are relevant — marriage certificates, court papers, correspondence — but it is not required. The first session works well even if you arrive with only your account of the situation. We can identify what documentation may be needed as part of our discussion.

What does Full Family Representation include? +

We manage the entire file — all communications with the other side, court documents, filings, hearings, and correspondence. You receive frequent updates in language you can follow, without needing to chase us. At the close of the matter, we prepare a written closing report summarising the outcome and any follow-on points.

Can I book an initial consultation without committing to further work? +

Absolutely. The Family Conversation Session is a standalone service. There is no expectation that you proceed with any further instruction. Many clients find that a single session gives them the clarity they need to make their own decisions, whatever those may be.
